Rebecca & Brett | Perth Wedding Photographer

This wedding was all elegance, with splashes of fantastic colour, Rebecca’s red shoes, bridesmaids’ blue dresses, their pink colourful bouquets. The background for all this were two great locations, The Vines Resort, where the bride got ready, and Sandalford Winery, where the ceremony and reception took place.

We got some great feedback from the couple, and will take the opportunity to brag:

“Just thought we would drop a quick line to let you know that we are thrilled with the photos. They are so much more than what we could have ever imagined and they are absolutely beautiful beyond words. We had a fantastic time on the day, and the feedback from our bridal party was that they had so much fun whilst doing the photo shoot.”

Lisa and Daniel | Perth Wedding Photographer

There are so many ways you can make your wedding special and personal. Having four children of their own, and also loads of others amongst guests, Lisa and Daniel opted for a daytime ceremony and picnic reception. They held it at the picturesque Araluen Botanic Park, where we also did all the photos.

One of our favourite Perth celebrants, Dru Soltys, officiated the touching ceremony.  This was an absolutely lovely day, with wonderful people, charming kids, relaxed and fun.

Photographer’s Tips & Tricks for Perfectly Captured Weddings

You are a Bride in search of the perfect wedding photographer to capture the biggest day of your life. There are so many choices out there and you don’t even know where to begin. What is important and what isn’t?

Learn the professional wedding photographer’s tips and tricks. There are three key considerations to take into account when getting great wedding photographs – light, locations and a good attitude.

Once you have your wedding venue booked, you should look for your perfect photographer straight away. Make sure to decide on a budget early and what is important to you. If you need a second shooter great, but would you prefer an album if your budget doesn’t stretch to both?

Ask your photographer about the editing of the photographs afterwards and the digital resolution format. Brief your photographer on the style you want and review photography galleries online to get a feel for what you like. Don’t go overboard on the processing though, as you may regret it in later years.

Timing is key and ideally you should draw up a detailed itinerary of the day. Check your travel time to and from the venue if you have a specific photography location in mind. Always overestimate time by at least 10% as you will find you will need it. Have water and snacks on hand so you can take a rest throughout the day.

Choosing your location is important but be realistic to how long it takes to get there. Don’t be tempted to take photographs on a red carpet as they can cause a red glow on the skin and always have a backup location just in case. Avoid the full force of the sun where possible.

The best way to be when posing for photographs is to relax and smile. Focusing on your partner and bridal party will help you do this. For Brides, make sure to get a makeup and hair trial in advance and see what it looks like on camera so you are happy with it. Be yourself and be natural, this always works best.
