Support

Got That sends short voice messages from a parent's phone to paired family phones. If something is not working, start here, then email us and we will help.

Contact: info@objektiv.com.au. We reply within 5 business days.

What you need

  • A parent phone and at least one paired family phone, each with an internet connection over Wi-Fi or mobile data.
  • iPhone or Android phones supported by the current App Store or Google Play listing. Got That does not need a PC, a home network device, or both phones on the same network.
  • Microphone access on the sending phone, and notifications allowed on the receiving phone.

Setting up

Watch the setup tutorials and follow the written steps at your pace. You can also see how the optional Got it reply works.

  • Choose Google or Apple sign-in, or create an account with email. These are alternatives.
  • Add a child’s phone with a QR code.
  • Send a voice message and see what happens to the music.
  1. On the parent phone, sign in and create your family.
  2. Create a single-use invitation for the phone you want to add.
  3. On that phone, choose the family role, name the phone, and scan the QR code.
  4. Check that both phones show the same verification phrase, then approve the device on the parent phone.

For a complete first-message walkthrough, see setting up a family intercom. For connected audio and background behaviour, see the headphone and playback guide.

Pairing problems

  • Invitations are single-use and expire. Create a fresh one if a scan fails.
  • If the verification phrases differ, do not approve. Cancel and start a new invitation.
  • Allow camera access on the phone doing the scanning, or use manual code entry instead.

A message did not arrive, or did not play out loud

  • Confirm both phones are online and the receiving phone is still paired.
  • Open Got That on the receiving phone and check its listening and notification status.
  • Allow notifications for Got That in your phone settings. Check Focus or Do Not Disturb, silent mode, volume and the selected audio output.
  • Check battery optimisation is not restricting Got That in the background.
  • Open the inbox and replay the message when automatic playback is unavailable.

Automatic playback depends on connectivity, permissions, listening settings and the phone's current audio state. Got That is for everyday coordination and should not be relied on for emergencies.

Delivery status and replies are different things

Delivery status tells you the message reached a phone. "Got it" means a person actually tapped the button. Got That shows them separately on purpose: delivery alone is not proof anyone listened.

Accounts, devices and privacy

  • Revoke a phone any time from the family screen; delivery to it stops immediately.
  • Delete your account from the account screen, or see account deletion.
  • See our Privacy Policy for what we collect and how long we keep it.

When you email us

Please include your phone model, your iOS or Android version, and roughly when the problem happened. Do not send voice recordings, pairing codes, passwords or screenshots containing private family information.
