The Mimir server collects nothing

This is the part most people care about, so it comes first. The Mimir server software you download and run on your own machine has no telemetry, no analytics, no phone-home and no cloud component. It does not create an account, does not require one, and does not transmit anything about you, your channels, your viewing or your recordings to us or to anyone else.

Your recordings are ordinary files in a folder you chose, on a disk you own. We never see them, and there is no mechanism by which we could.

When Mimir fetches a channel playlist, a programme guide or a channel logo, it connects directly to whichever source you configured. Those connections are between your server and that source. We are not involved and have no visibility into them.

This website uses Google Analytics

The website, as distinct from the software, uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people find useful and which they don't. That tells us what to write more of. It is used for nothing else: no advertising, no remarketing, no profiling, and no selling or sharing of data with third parties for their own purposes.

What is collected, if you allow it:

• Which pages you viewed, and in what order
• Roughly where in the world you are, from a truncated IP address: country level, not your street
• What kind of device and browser you used
• Which site referred you, if any
• Whether you downloaded the server, and for which platform

We do not collect your name, your email address or anything you type. There is no sign-up form on this site, so there is nothing to submit. IP anonymisation is enabled.

Your choice, and how consent works here

Analytics cookies are handled through Google Consent Mode. If you are visiting from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, nothing is stored on your device unless you press Accept. Declining or ignoring the banner means no analytics cookies are set at all. Elsewhere, analytics is on by default and you can turn it off with Decline at any time.

Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage on your own device. It is not sent to us, and it does not identify you.

Changing your mind

Clearing your browser's site data for this domain removes the stored choice, and the banner will appear again on your next visit so you can choose differently. You can also block analytics entirely with any standard content blocker; the site is built to work perfectly well without it, and nothing on it depends on analytics loading.

Other things that load

• Google Fonts: the typefaces are served from Google's font CDN, which means your browser makes a request to fonts.gstatic.com. Google receives your IP address as part of that request, as it would for any hosted asset.
• Server logs: our web host records standard access logs (IP address, time, page requested, browser) as essentially every web server does. These are used for security and troubleshooting.

There is nothing else. No advertising networks, no social widgets, no session recording, no heatmaps, no chat popups, no A/B testing tools.

Downloads

Downloading the Mimir server requires no account, no email address and no registration. The download is a plain file served over HTTPS. If you have accepted analytics, the fact that a download happened is counted; the file itself is not modified or tracked in any way, and its published SHA-256 checksum lets you verify that for yourself.

Your rights

If you are in the EEA or UK, you have the right to access, correct or erase personal data held about you, and to object to its processing. Given the above there is very little to act on: we hold no account, no email address and no contact details for website visitors. If you want your analytics data removed, contact us and we will action it with Google.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page changes with it. We will not quietly start collecting more than is described here.
